As the first Sunday of April said “Hello!” with a very bright, crisp morning, we made our way down to Belfast City Centre. There we met the very lovely couple that is Alan and Sarah.
Our first stop – St. Georges Market.
If you ever get the chance to go, do it! There are so many food vendors with lots of yumminess to purchase, just like this…. Yes, freshly made crepes!
We had to stop because “Alan gets cranky if he’s not fed every two hours” said Sarah.
There are many skilled crafts people selling their creations, artists with things you would never get in any mainstream “Home” shop. It’s definitely the place to go for original, one-offs or something completely off the wall!
For example, this little number Sarah is sporting! But apparently she put it on the “wrong way” so the stall owner had to come round and fix it for her!
I don’t think Alan was that impressed with the hat…
On our way out we had seen a stall selling old town maps. I think it’s a Norn Irish thing to find some relation to our country, town or family no matter where we go! And what did the Omagh natives spot? A map of Omagh from back in the day!
But we’ll go one further because everyone in Northern Ireland is connected like 50 bajilllion ways – the edition of the map was the “Godfrey Edition” – Sarah’s fathers name! Safe to say it was a wee purchase for good aul Godfrey!
So having visited the market we went for a wee dander around the city centre. We found these huge doors; we have no idea where they lead to… maybe Narnia? Who knows, but they make an excellent back drop!
At Honey and the Moon Photography we always want you to have a good time and enjoy yourself during the shoot. We love using unique locations or back drops, it means your shoot can be different from the mainstream, you can choose a location that means something to you or something that just looks awesome!
Just a quick scout about before the following happened…
We made our way round to the Cathedral Quarter to get a few more intimate shots, but on our way we seen that a plaque had been erected in honour of Terry Hooley, the godfather of Punk in Northern Ireland. It’s great to see what he did is now being recognised.
Alan and Sarah are an adorable couple, they have known each other since they were 11, they were in the same year in school until finally in Upper Sixth they made it official and have been together ever since!
They are school sweethearts, going strong and have been married 2 and half years!
This year they celebrate their 30th Birthdays! So happy birthday for this year to Alan and Sarah! We are honoured that we were the first to photograph you since your wedding day! So there is really only one way to end this blog post…
……. and Alan of course!
If you are super-duper loved up, just recently engaged or have celebrated a special anniversary you should definitely have a couples shoot. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate a special moment in your lives together & your love!
