So you think that photo shoots are for models, newlyweds & kids? Na ah! Have you ever thought about just you & your best mate having a laugh some afternoon in someplace really random and a photographer there too? It’s a thing – we know ‘cos we did it!
We went out for a walk round Cathedral Quarter, Belfast with Hayley & Lucy and shot them basically acting the eejits. We had to wait on the rain to finish – but time was easily passed with a coffee in a well know coffee chain *ahem * you know the one with “issues” with their tax *ahem*, discussing boys, politics, Andy Warhol (no he doesn’t do hats Hayley) & photography of course! It was still sorta spitting when we left but hoped for the best and it did eventually stop, although a little overcast!
The girls were looking immaculate, though we never did ask them did they plan their outfits but the colours & textures all worked really well and gave another dimension to the images! They especially popped when we posed them in front of the red doors on Commercial Court, but we’ll get to that.. lets start where all good stories start, at the beginning!
We began in St Anne’s Square and tried to teach Lucy how to make a heart with her fingers, we got there in the end as you can see. Super cute!
We the raced down Exchange Street passed the marvellous MAC building, which if you haven’t been to yet, we advise definitely go! It’s a very deceiving building, with lots going on inside, including several huge galleries with ever changing exhibitions, a theatre, a restaurant & best of all a bar! 😉 An Andy Warhol exhibit is even on its way – I know, in Belfast, its nuts but amazing too!
These were shot outside the University of Ulster’s Art College where there are three HUGE buoys installed as street art. Cool and totally random – the sort of thing we love!
And why not jump off some stuff … ‘cos that’s how rebellious we are, hardcore or what?!
This is a lovely wee image looking over to the Belfast City Library & Belfast Telegraph building – the sandstone red was a great contrast to the blue the girls are wearing.
Now this … lol looks like a quick wellknownhaircareproducthairswish.. but it was in fact us trying to explain to Hayley how to do a cool perspective shot, y’know one of those poses to hold a HUGE buoy between her fingers – alas she didn’t get it – but hey – it’s still a pretty hot wellknownhaircareproducthairswish! You go Hayley! You own it!
We think this used to be a gate or window but the arch makes for a great improvised frame for the girls to stand in! Gots to use what’s around us – no real creativity in a white backdrop when things like this are out in the street!
Now this is Commercial Court, possibly one of the prettiest streets in Belfast! So pretty in fact we just got the girls to stand right in the middle and have all the beautiful bits & pieces around them! Have a look at all the pretty!
Like the cobbles! Even the yellow lines are pretty!
Can you tell it was cold??
The street is filled with lots of old signs, left over from the many old businesses that existed before and other memorabilia from a bygone day – and we think they look AWESOME!
These amazing vibrant red doors are on the court too, they belong to one of the restaurants and were another great opportunity to frame the girls!
And now time for silly faces. Who doesn’t like some silly faces, not us – wrinkles, gurning and just general ugliness make some “special” moments! Lol and the giggles after are priceless! See?
Then they ran away, frig sake! Come back!
They stopped….. and then hugged May McFeteridge. No, really, we’re not joking, look for yourself!
All of the mural art is done by “reformed prisoners”, which really they should just be called amazing artists! Some of the detail in the murals is insane! If you ever get the chance go for a nosey to see for yourself! It’s definitely well worth a visit!
Well, if only just to feel a little bit of bum… eh Lucy?
Yes that is Rory McIlroy et al….
Hope you enjoyed having a wee perusal though the shoot. We had a right giggle with the girls and gorgeous images to boot! Ha that rhymed!
So if you fancy doing something like this get in touch with us and we can get organising!
Look forward to hearing from you!
