Remember that hot beautiful summer? Well, Dave and Mel had their Irish Australian wedding at Larchfield Estate on one of those perfect summer days and it was wonderful!
They had their outdoor ceremony in the sunken garden within Larchfield’s spectacular gardens with friends and family from both hemispheres looking on. It was such a sweet ceremony and totally reflected Mel and Dave’s relationship.
They chose not to have a typical bridal party, instead asked their nieces and nephews to step in and they did an excellent job in being a flower girl, bridesmaid and ring bearer respectively!
As guests were treated to soft-serve ice-cream from a vintage ice cream van and the kids enjoyed a game of cricket, we nabbed Dave and Mel for a dander around the grounds of Larchfield to create a few portraits.
We love photographing weddings at Larchfield because no matter how often we photograph it we always see it in a different way, the photographic opportunities are endless!
After much mingling, ice cream licking and pint sinking it was time for the speeches! And a first for us, they were outside in the courtyard! It was wonderfully informal and relaxed. Melanie made a speech too and we will never stop saying “YAY!” to brides making a speech at their own wedding!!
Dinner was served in the beautifully decorated Barn of Larchfield, but it wasn’t long before everyone was out enjoying the long summer evening, the big kids even enjoyed an energetic kick about!
In all, it was such a chilled out wedding to be a part of and a pleasure to photograph. We hope you enjoy the story of Dave and Mel’s wedding day!
