We were thrilled when Rosie and Elliot asked us to photograph their wedding in Hampshire, England. It was a huge honour and a particularly special wedding for us to be a part of as Karolyn is an old university chum of Rosie’s. We also knew they’d be bloody brilliant in front of the camera after we shot their engagement photoshoot in London last summer.
We called in to their venue the day before to say hello and catch up with everyone. It was everything you would expect of an English country farm; set in rolling green hills of Hants, it had thatched roof buildings, pigs giving the odd grunt in the background and a rickety old barn that was to be the scene of one heck of a wedding.
Down on the farm it was all hustle and bustle with friends and family all pitching in. Marquees going up, homegrown dahlias from Rosie’s parents garden being trimmed and two gigantic initials waiting to be hoisted in to place.
On the day of the wedding it was gloriously warm and sunny. Rosie made her preparations at her parents home in Andover. It was lovely to spend time with everyone chatting and chilling in the garden before Elliot’s granddad picked up the wedding party in Elliot’s immaculate morris minor.
Their outdoor ceremony was wonderfully personal as their close friend Atticus acted as their celebrant. Hearts full of love, beaming smiles and big bear hugs from friends and family engulfed them as soon as the ceremony was over – it was over flowing with happiness for two of the kindest people you could ever hope to meet.
Whilst guests kept the happy vibe alive by enjoying gin cocktails and local craft beer we stole the newly weds away for their portraits. We’ve never known a couple to show so much love for each other with a simple touch. It seemed as though there was a gravitational pull between them and they just, well, fit.
The evening was finished off with hilarious speeches and some of the most enthusiastic dancing we’ve seen!
We had an awesome time photographing Elliot and Rosie and it was genuine pleasure to spend time with their families and friends. We hope you enjoy!
