We are so thrilled to share Holly and Jono’s winter wedding at Larchfield estate, Northern Ireland. It was a crisp November day with heavy dense fog that refused to lift, but contributed to intimate magical day that was to come. Holly and Jono made the journey home from England for their wedding and started the day by getting ready right next door to each other in Larchfield’s very own (very cute) cottages. Greeted with the best kind of electric nervous energy punctuated by out of the blue excited screams from Holly we knew it was going to be an awesome wedding! Jono wore a daring dark green tartan three piece suit whilst Holly wore a stunning dress with lace wrap. We were blown away by Holly’s ‘maids dresses which were a deep crushed green velvet.
Holly and Jono had a beautiful wedding ceremony in the stables – a magnificently refurbished building that is both intimate and rustic. It was expertly decorated in beautiful blooms by The Flower Room, Belfast
For a few moments we stole the newly weds for a stroll around the gorgeous grounds of the estate through the moody freezing fog. It’s always a challenge for most natural light wedding photographers to shoot a winter wedding as light is fleeting and sets at just after 3pm in Northern Ireland but with two awesome people to photograph like Holly and Jono it was a breeze, they were effortless together. So with the fading sunlight and fog diffusing the light even further we ended up with a beautiful effect of gorgeous even light splashed over their happy faces – it was perfect. Shout out to Victoria from “A Cinematic Life” who is always a videographer we love to work with.
The day was finished with hilarious speeches, delicious food and epic dance moves. An all round gem of a wedding – we couldn’t have asked to photograph two nicer people and to be involved in their special day was a privilege.
